100 Women in Cycling

The Cycling UK Women’s Festival of Cycling 2020 started this week, and I am very proud to announce that I have been selected as one of the 100 Women in Cycling for 2020, alongside Community Champions, Industry Moguls, Cycling Influencers and Sporting Heroes.

I really love cycling and “Cycling allowed me to channel my energy into something I really enjoy, both through riding and coaching.”

The 100 Women in Cycling list aims to highlight “inspirational women who are encouraging others to experience the joy of cycling”.

I still remember the first time that a young rider told me that they wanted to be like me when they were older. I was 15 and it was at a cyclocross race – I was amazed at the impact that I’d had on this little girl by simply doing what I was doing and riding my bike.

Last year, I coached at many Let’s Ride pop-up sessions, teaching children how to ride a bike. At one session, within 5 minutes of meeting a 10 year old girl and whilst teaching her, she told me that she would like to be a “bike teacher” when she is older.

There are some more amazing and inspiring women included in the 100 Women in Cycling list, so be sure to check out their profiles here:

Finally, a massive thank you to everybody who has inspired and encouraged me.
